Heat on in summer = no good !
 

I have a 1972 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup, 350/700r4 with a 4 core rad and with my fan for the heat off i am still getting a flow of warm air into my cab through the vents. Is there a way I can shut off the heat, by means of not allowing water into the heater core for the summer months without hurting the engine or anything. I am running at a cool 130 degrees but am sweating due to the heat in my cab. thanks everyone. CLIFF

just go to the hardware store and get a valve, like the water spicket on you home. they make one that is straight it works better. just cut the line comming from the engine to the heater core. works great

Do you have A/C, reason I'm asking is A/C trucks have a vacuum operated valve on the heater plumbing.

yes i do have AC. however i put a valve inline and it worked WONDERFUL no more hot air cooking me at redlights and such. my AC is not hooked up. thank you guys, and gals. for the help
