Another fuel in oil Q&A

I had fuel in oil lets just say 5 gallons to be exact changed the fuel pump changed the oil tried to start nothing happend sounded like the starter was bogging up with the flywheel ,starter was new battery was new so those were not the problem .I decided to take the spark plugs off and the hot wire off the distributer what do you know fuel was trapped in the cylinders the engine turned over just fine spit all the fuel out of the cylinders here is the question I have a edelbrock carb. if I continue to have fuel in the crankcase would the suspect be the carb now.sorry for the long thread

i would think the float was stuck in the carb, i'd also check the fuelpukp pressure it shouldn't be more that6lbs

I know the fuel tank builds up alot of pressure while it sits or when you try to start it I have to open the fuel cap to relieve it
