Man, I broke off an "EZ-Out" inside ...
 

a brass brake fitting going into the proportioning valve. Am I scre#$d now? The brass nipple broke flush with the steel, then the EZ-OUT puller broke, too.

It shouldn't be too hard to find a new prop valve on here. You can probably get tone pretty cheap. I wasn't planning on selling it, but if you need one for a drum/drum setup, I have a good one in the garage attic.

You can either use a double flare tool & put a new fitting on it. Or, you can buy a short piece w/ the flare already on it & use a joining compression fitting on the other side.

what ever you do, DO NOT USE COMPRESSION FITTINGS!!! they are not designed for the high pressures in a brake system. (upwards of 3000 psi) they may hold under normal use but will fail in a panic stop. they leak where ring meets tube. use inverted flare fittings only. I dont want people to get hurt.

Best way to get the easy out out is with and end mill, using a flat bottomed cutter. If you have a buddy with an end mill, good. If not, best to buy a new valve.

New valves aren't cheap, a repop with bracket & tubes is about $90. Adjustables are around $50.

If you have access to a mig welder and a nut, weld the nut to the end of the easyout wait for it to cool and remove it. Don't continue to try and remove the piece you were trying to remove in the first place without getting a new easyout first. They use some heat from a propane/mapp gas torch...

Another option is to go to your dentist! :D Yes, I'm not kidding! They carry the best dremel bits you can find. Use a fine bit to cut a slot in whatever is stuck in there, insert screwdriver and unscrew.

That easy-out isn't coming out unless you have some super drill. I managed to break an easy out inside of a grade 3 bolt in the back of a block where the tranny bolts up... and we drilled for 3 days straight (3 days of auto shop @ 4.5hrs each) and the thing didn't budge. Managed to kill 3 bits tho.

Easy Outs are made of very rare steel. They are made from the old worn out hinges of the gate to Hell. Nothing is harder than those things.

I have never, ever seen a drill bit that will even touch one.

You'll be miles ahead to post on the parts board asking for a used prop valve.

Find someone in your area that has an e-lock machine. This machine was designed to remove broken hardened bits and extractors. They can be hard to find but once you watch one you'll wonder way you ever drilled anything out.
