Best Alternator Brackets for Tall Valve Covers

I am getting ready to replace my dead alternator with a new one, however, I have tall valve covers, and the way the adjustment bracket is set up now is "makeshift" with a piece of metal to work and it looks horrible and doesn't hold the belt tight enough. What bracket can I purchase to fix my problem. I was looking at billet specialties, but I don't know whether to go with the top mount bracket, or side mount bracket. Seems like the top mount would interfere with the upper radiator hose. Please help, anyone that has encountered the same problem. Thanks.......

I use stock sbc alternator brackets with my tall valve covers. alt on driverside.

I have the stock arch adjustment arm, but the alternator hits the valve-cover, and doesn't quite reach it. I have the Edelbrock Elite series aluminum valve covers, and they are a little extra tall. Thanks...

had same issue we ran late model alternator bracket on passenger side which requires long waterpump if you have ps will need late model brackets to mount on drivers side and waterpump and crank pulleys

I hate to make such a drastic changeover. If I was going to go that far, I might as well go with a march serpentine system. I wonder if the billet specialties side or top mount bracket will work?

I've got the same problem on a '70 that I'm rebuilding. Had to jury rig a bracket. Let me know if you find something that will work.

I will probably try the billet specialties left hand bracket, and let you know.
