1968 2wd lwb for sale
5 Attachment(s)
I purchased this on E-bay about 4 months ago with the plan to build for my oldest to drive when he turns 16. He has changed his mind about what he wants and I dont need it. Its a 1968 chevy, with p/s p/b 327/400 auto. It has new; starter, water pump, fuel pump, plugs, cap, rotor, points, condenser, coil, master cylinder, front brake lines and hoses. I rebuilt the carb but could use a pro rebuild. The truck is all original other than the original seat have been taken out. The truck runs and drives pretty good. I have driven it many times on 50 to 100 mile trips with no problems. this is a very restorable truck or has great parts on it. I am trying to post pics. 950.00 or best offer. I have and can get more photo's.

Look like another 50th. Someone will snag it up.
|
That is a 50th, but I am curious about the door panels??? From what I understand they should be parchment. That would be anice deal for someone.
|
Hey 6772Kevin, this is off the topic a little, but you wouldn't want to sell the gas pump that is in the bed would you. My father has several of those from various oil companies. Well, what'da'ya' say?

Sorry Putter but the gas pump is not for sale. It belongs to a buddy of mine.

If I were closer I would buy it in a heartbeat. I want a 50th

Interesting...it has the codes for a 50th, it looks like a 50th, however, as chris pointed out, the door panels (which apear to be original) are not right...adn there is no Custom or CST option package on that list either. (the chrome bumper and side trim options cought my eye on that)
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...id=93362&stc=1 Either way it is a pretty cool truck. Notice it has the dealer installed side step in the bed. An interesting feature, and an indication that it was bought to be a truck. (like most were back in the day) Original key too, that's pretty cool. |
All the numbers match as to be original, but I cant guarantee. My uncle used to work for GM and said that sometimes while building a car or truck that if they ran out of something that they would pull what would fit and go with it. If you look the arm rest's are as I know them 1967's. Maybe thats what happened? I really dont know.
|
Good point on the arm rests being 67 pieces. I think The dump truck that Fine69 just sold was like that too. (fast68's old dump truck)
Would you be willing to post the VIN...or maybe PM it to me? I want to see how early a 68 it really is. Heck, with it being so original, there should be a sticker on the door in the door jamb (just under the latch) saying what month it was built. I'll bet it is an early 68, maybe even built in 67. |
Man oh man...what a deal!
Sooooo tempted...... To de TOP!!! :D |
Sweet, where in Missouri are you located?
|
If only I could get it here for cheap. I will be looking at getting another truck to rebuild soon since mine is not worth fixing.
|
I am just east of Kansas City about 15 minutes.
|
Longhornman I will get the vin tonight and see what else I can find out.
|
sweet..thanks.

That will be a excellent truck for somebody looking for a project. The price is very reasonable too. I did notice that there were no custom or CST emblems on the doors or a Chevrolet emblem on the glove box. Would it also have the e-brake mech. cover if it were a custom? I suppose that someone already nabbed the buckets and the tailgate :-( First one I have ever seen with this particular configuration. A 50th that that does not have the custom or CST option. Longhorn Man will figure it out. Thanks for sharing the pics. Back to the top |
The Vin Number is on the build sheet in one of the pics. With the last 6 digits being 164993 I wouldn't say that is an early production '68.
|
Why didn't i think of that?
You're right...#64993, not too early. |

It's alright man...We all know you know everything...maybe not all at once tho ;) |
Yeah, I had a brain fart, or as my wife would say...A man moment.
|
Longhornman, I looked last night for anything that gave a production date but couldnt find anything. As I said before the VIN plate on the cab matches the glove box door. Looks like you know more than most about the VIN and build dates so sorry I couldnt help more.
