Just looking for a 67-72 orig. truck auto tilt. There has been a few here and there but I just haven't been ready to spend $275 for them.

Hello Robo,
I'm just up the road in Armstrong, small world. I'm looking for a tilt for my 68 column shift. A van unit would be allright. I've never seen a van unit installed. I'm curious about how well they fit and if they are positioned well. Later, Glen

68er, once the van tilt is installed, you'd never be able to tell it is not a truck unit from inside the truck, and only scavey truck freaks would notie the difference from under the hood. You'll need the intermediate shaft from a 69 - 72 in order to do the swap on your rig, and relocate (or bypass) the neutral safety switch and back up light switch.

ok guys so ill go have a look and ill snag a couple then :metal:

Watch those old vans for cruise control. I wonder how many of those had that option. I think some of those parts interchange with our truck cruise parts don't they?

Robo_bot 08-15-2004 08:28 PM

not a clue id kinda like to know the answer to that Q cause if so ill find one and use it for my truck :metal:

Longhorn Man 08-15-2004 09:15 PM

I KNOW the cruise switch works, and I think that if you get all the parts and get a little creative, it'd work and look pretty close to original.

Robo_bot 08-16-2004 08:23 PM

o cool maybe ill have a look then in a van for some cruise control stuff does anyone have a pic of what the cruise control setup looks like ???

Robo_bot 08-20-2004 05:48 PM

Dang...how you come up with a thread that is 2 years old when the search is down?

Those pics show the later cruise control, the vans would have the controller in the turn signal lever with the wires going into the column. Other than that, the items in the pics are what need to be pulled from the van.
