Had a great time, cruised in his 69, put on at least 100 miles. He even brought a brand new battery for my truck that he scored for free. Took a few pics too :D

There are a few pics of his 69 sitting in front of an old abandoned gas station on Illinois Rt. 251 (previously US Rt. 51), a pic of his truck in front of the old Cities Service building here in town, and a pic of him taking a pic of me, while I'm sitting behind the wheel of a "custom" 67 lwb at the dealer here in town.

Also, here's a sad pic of the sagging 69 swb that was daily driven in a town a few miles from me, up until a few years ago. The only option I really remember it having is a tach dash. Poor thing :(

Gosh, that white truck looks like a real POS. . . .

Looks better than that black 68 swb stepside we saw today in Gridley.....

Oh wait...that was my truck

Yeah, I mean, it has 5 lug rims in back and 6 lugs up front. I mean...what gives?

lol
How you likin the 3.07 gears there Jason? I know it's better on the open road, but how bad is it off the line? (did you ever reconfigure the speedo?)

I'll tell you one thing, I didn't get to drive it today, but I can tell the take-off is nowhere near what it was. But it did get better after we replaced those cracked vacuum caps he had on his carb.....even though gas dribbled out of the small vacuum port on the front of the carb after I pulled the cap off of it

He caught himself running about 70 more than once on our trip....couldn't do that with the 3.73's for any distance.....

I dunno who stole a lug off of each side of my rearend.

I absoultey love these 3.07's! I can never see going back to 3.73's! I wanna reconfigure the speedo before I drop in the new engine. I was 5 MPH fast before, now I'm 5 MPH slow. . . LOL.

The truck was pretty bad off the line after swaping to the 3.07's, then after driving 3 hours to TJ's @ 75+ had me grining ear to ear! I could never take the truck over 60 MPH due to my little oil pressure problem. But like TJ said, I replaced those bad vaccum caps and she is awhole lot stronger off the line. The cam I'm gonna use in the engine I'm putting together is gonna have pretty good low end torque, so I'm really not too worried.
