1993 S10 blazer won't start
I have a 1993 blazer S10, VIN W, 4 wheel drive. It has the vortec with the CPI. The engine will turn over but will not start. It will make a backfire noise when cranking like it wants to start. Fuel pressure is good. Will a bad fuel pressure regulator cause this?
Thanks, Dave |
generally it sounds like you got more going on than a fuel pressure regulator. sounds more like a firing problem of some sort, like a timing chain jump or break, a distributor problem or a ECU problem. It's hard to say, not being there, but the backfiring sound to me like one of the above. Good luck bro and let me know what you find.

I am going to try a new regulator. I have just replaced the nut kit because the inlet fuel line was leaking.
The engine wasn’t running right, so I changed the wires, plugs, cap, and rotor, then it wouldn’t start. I am sure the wires are on right. That is when I pulled off the upper plenum and found the fuel inlet line leaking and replaced it but still would not start. I had to order the fuel pressure regulator, so I have to wait on that. |
The back fire makes it sound like the wires are not in the correct order. Did you pull the dizzy for anything?
