Making progress!
3 Attachment(s)
Bear with me, I'm excited to be making any progress at all, even if it's just a little.
I got the front air bag mounting plates I ordered from ***************** yesterday. They are extremely well made pieces. Here's a couple of pictures of them as well as a pic of the rubber bumpers installed in the C-notch in the rear. I'll be ordering the complete air bag kit in two weeks and will then start installing everything. I'm gonna take pictures every step of the way to document how to install an air-bag system. Should be fun! |
looks good man I love bagged trucks!!! is it going to lay frame? or just be low? anyway keep truckin'
|
No layin' frame...just bags and 3" dropped spindles in front, bags in rear. But it will be nice and low!
|
My question...Do the plates go under or over the lower control arms?
|
That frame is looking good. Paint? Powder coat?
|
Putter-
The flat plates bolt to the underside of the front crossmember (positioned like in the pic). The cups (the cylindrical pieces in the other pic) sit in the lower control arm just like the factory springs did. The bottom of the air bag bolts to them while the top of the bag bolts to the upper plate. SCOTI- Frame is powdercoated. I started not to post pics of the plates sitting on the frame, or of the C-notch because the frame is so dusty (only been coated a couple weeks and already dirty!). But it does clean up pretty darn nice! I'm very pleased with it. Now to install all the new bushings in the A-arms, trailing arms, etc. and I'll be ready to bolt it all back together. I have boxes of new suspension parts just waiting on the workbench (ball joints, tie rod ends, etc). Now I actually get to use them! |
