35's and ball joints
 

Okay....want to put 35x12.50x15's on my 72 that's lifted....I still have the half-ton suspension and I'd like to go from my 33's to 35's......and want to know what other people have experianced on there ball joints with mostly street driving with the occasional off road jaunt......Thanks.... :flag: :D :metal:

I've had 2 Blazers with 35's. I replaced the ball joints on the driver's side of my '69, but I never had to do anything to them on the '72 I used to have. I don't know if the ball joint's on my '69 went bad because of the tires or just because of age. There are plenty of people running 35's and bigger on their blazers. I wouldn't think that going to 3/4 or 1 ton running gear is going to make too much difference in the ball joints.

for what use you described, they will be fine. might need replaced a tad more often than a stock truck, but they should be ok (unless you are running an insane motor and have a lead foot ;) ).

fyi, all GM 1 ton front axles (dana 60's) had kingpins instead of balljoints. much more durable, but would be overkill in your scenario.
