firewall plug question
1 Attachment(s)
Where are you guys buying your firewall plugs? I want to seal this cab up tight, but I've got about 3 or 4 holes where wires or windshield washer lines come out. I haven't found any plugs/grommets in any catalogs.
I really need the lower circled opening plug. The upper circle is a secondary hole near where the washer lines are popping out. |
I bought some from the Truck Shop in Orange Kalifornia. They were $4.00 each and crap. They were made from urethane and won't stay in the hole. I tried to adjust the prongs just once and the prong snapped off. Find some good used ones and clean them up.

I found plugs at the local hardware store in their bins of hardware. All sorts of goodies there.

napa car parts sells packages of nice plastic plugs in a verity of sizes they work great
or check your local auto parts store by the vacumme caps ect.. they usally carry them. |
That plug in the lower circle is where the clutch linkage comes out and is held on by a screw. I get them at the junkyard off of factory automatic trucks. It's metal with a rubber gasket behind it.

TX Firefighter - I saw one of those a week or two ago at the junkyard. Since most of the older ones are going to be pretty nasty/rusted I'll just make one out of sheetmetal and paint it to match the firewall. Thankf or the help, and sorry for the late reply. I was just cleaning out some of my subscriptions and thought I should respond to this one.
