'68 GMC 3/4 4x4 F/S

1968 GMC on a ?72 ? Ton 4x4 chassis. Complete frame up restoration. Frame was sandblasted and is powder coated.
The motor is a fuel injected RamJet 350 crate motor (350 hp & 400 lbs torque). Less than 4k miles on truck/motor since restoration.
Rebuilt T350 transmission. 205 transfer case completely rebuilt as well.
4? lift completed with new springs all the way around, no blocks. New shocks also.
Tilt steering, and A/C. Truck is 90% complete. Interior needs to be put in truck. I have all the items to go in. New chrome bumpers front and rear. A new frame mounted hitch was installed. I have over $20,000 invested in this truck. Make a reasonable offer. I need to sell this thing soon.

I will take lots of pitures if someone is interested.

I have pics of the restoration if requested. This truck is nice!

Charlie, what's "reasonable"? :D What gears? Locker in the rear? What was the body like to start with? I like the truck. I actually saved all of the pics you posted before. Just what I want mine to look like when it grows up. Maybe I'd be farther ahead to sell my project......... Brian

Charlie Coleman 09-14-2004 10:30 AM

I would love to get $15k out of it, but don't know what it is really worth. $12k may be a better price. Make an offer.....

The gears are 4.11's. The body was perfect. No rust anywhere. It was an original truck with 68,000 miles. The old couple I bought it from put a camper on it new, and kept it in a garage. I wanted a 4x4, but the '68 body (2wd) was too clean to pass up. Thus, the marriage of the '68 2wd body and 4x4 '72 chassis.

I've been thinking of selling my 70 sierra grande. Maybe it's time to push the sale.......................That's exactly what I'm looking for. :D

We may even be able to do a little trading. What would you want for your Sierra?

Charlie, I'm not sure what you're looking for. I have all kinds of stuff that needs to go. I have a few projects and this sierra that I'm toying with selling. I have a 69 gmc 4x4 project (3/4 ton). It is completely disassembled, but the sheetmetal is spotless. I have a 71 chevy extended cab (scott conversion) project with a big block 4spd, etc. The sierra I would have to get $7k for it. I have more than that in it. It's a factory 402/th400, tach, tilt, rear slider, bucket seat, shoulder harness, aux tanks, cruise, a/c, locking differential. More options than I've ever seen. Truck is from ca (very solid). Interior is very nice. Engine and trans have very low miles on rebuild. It has alum intake/edelbrock/hei on it now, but I have the factory stuff. Chrome is very nice. The only two things I intended to do to the truck were to put new tires on it (they have good trad, but are starting to crack) and the paint. Someone painted it a few years back and did a half-a$$ed job in my opinion. It's just not show quality like I want (I'm picky). I have almost all of the original paperwork, manual, key holder, brochures, etc. I bought it off of the original owners grandson. I also have a local guy that ships in that general area. I guess it comes down to what you really want. I'll see if I can get some pictures tonight. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks. Brian
