new toy....literally
 

Not sure if anyone here is into R/C or models, but for those who are, I thought I would share with you my latest creation.

This is a 1:10 scale radio controlled replica of my truck (with the exception of the front clip, mine is a 73). It is a Clod Buster body on a M04-L chassis..both of which are Tamiya products. I had to shorten the box, and shave the sunroof hole, hood scoop hole, hood tilt lines, and vent windows (just for looks). I still need to do some detail painting on it (lights, handles, etc) and make a box cover. This should be fun to bring with to shows...when my real truck is finished. :D

Now before anyone rags on me, I have been working on Yeller too! :) ;)

Jeff, that's freakin' awesome! Okay, spill the details - how much and where did you shorten the bed? Also, what did you use to fill the sunroof and hood scoop hole? I've been wanting to use a Clod Buster body myself for the exact same thing for a long time now, but didn't know what chassis or anything to use. Again, that's a great toy! Looks awesome to see the real thing!

Ive got a handful of RC cars, but nothing with an 80s pickup body

I have 3 RC10 buggys, 1 RC10 truck, Parma 37 chevy, 32 coupe, and 56 wagon, an AWD electric car, AWD gas car, an E-MAXX, and a T-MAXX.

Very nice job, will be even nicer detailed.

I still have a couple in the garage that were detailed even with working head lights. Won several tropy's with them.

After that raced them both, had near 5k into the two rigs. But they performed.

Kent, when I get home I will measure and see how much I removed from the bed. All the material was removed from the front of the bed. It is a little out of proportion due to the chassis wheelbase, but close enough. It is actually closer to a Blazer/Jimmy wheelbase...and it would be pretty easy to make one of those too (Ken, you reading this? :D ). The chassis is from the Tamiya BMW Roadster kit. It is rwd, and has 4 wheel independant suspension. I put ball bearing in it to make it faster and more battery friendly. As far as filling the holes...I cut some thin aluminum slightly larger than the opening, and epoxied them from behind. I then filled the recessed areas with automotive bondo. It was a very simple procedure.

87 shortwide. I have a couple other R/C's. I have a hopped up Midnight Pumpkin, Grasshopper converted to a monster truck (it too will have a 81+ Chevy body), and a basically stock E-maxx. I used to race a Losi T, but sold it because I was always spending money on it in order to keep up with everybody else.

thats sweet Jeff , Piston ( MOT ) just started R/C forums, set up like these. I haven't had mine out since before Dan was born (kinda like my truck ;) ) anyways, you should check out his new R/C thingy here its just starting up but has the potential to be cool.
