Gauge Help?

I have the three hole bezel that has the turn signal mechanism inside the middle hole. I'm wanting to put a tach in that space. Upon taking my gauge cluster apart I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to put it in there. Can I just cut into the turn signal spot without damaging the speedometer or the fuel gauge? Need some help

thanks,

Why Not Just Get A Full Gauge Cluster And Redo That Kind....

Yes, you can cut the metal out, and the lens, and you'll probably have to 'bulge' the back of the panel a little bit.
One thing to point out, you'll need to figure how to hook up your turn signal indicators to some LEDs or something...and if you don't have any aftermarket guages...you'll want some due to the lack of dummy lights.

I was going to try to go without turn signals, or at least me being able to see the turn signals.

I'm planning the same as you yellow69. I just found a tach in a 1981 Z-28 and was thinking of installing it into the same 3 hole bezel. I have 2 of these so I would like to use this style for that reason.

I was thinking of installing some green lights (Radio shack) for the turn signals into some holes that I'll drill on each side of the center hole. I am also planning on drilling holes in the bottom for aftermarket gauges. Should be much simpler on them doing it this way over installing into existing holes on the guage type bezel.

I haven't attempted this project yet so I can't offer any tips but will be watching this thread closely. If I'm successfull, I'll post my results later this year. Maybe I'll do a step by step picture/story of mine? (winter project for me)

How do you plan on hooking the turn signals up? I was just going to do without. I don't really want to, but I really not sure how to go about getting them to work like you are wanting to do.

thanks
