What size bolts?

Does anybody know off the top of their head what size bolts hold the bench seat to the floor?. The seat that came out had some cheap thin bolts that were definitely not correct. I want to buy some good quality bolts and they look to be 1/4" course thread but I was hoping for verification before I make 2 trips to buy the bolts. Thanks :bowtie:

1/4 inch sounds too small. I can't remember but I can narrow it down, they're either 3/8 or 5/16 course thread.

Randy, I agree 1/4" sounds small. Tonight I crawled under the truck with a flash light and the nut that's welded to the floor under the cab looks like a 1/4".

The ones on my son's were 5/16-18.

5/16 bolts.

Remember the general rule of thumb, if a 1/2" wrench fits it, it's a 5/16 bolt.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I'm hoping to get the new seat bolted in tomorrow so I can fab up some brackets for the new retractors.

70c10 10-18-2004 08:37 AM

I'm putting in 2 point retractors.

chickenwing 10-18-2004 08:59 AM

That's just lap belts, right? Why ya got to fab up brackets?

Yes they are lap belts but are aftermarket and don't come with mounts for the retractors.
