67-68 rad support brackets
Could someone show me pictures of the differences between the radiator supports brackets that are rivited on the frame on a 67-68 frame as compared to 69-72. I know the bushings are different for the rad. support so the brackets should be as well. I am putting a 68 front clip on my 71 Chev. This will help me know what to look for. Thanks

I think (but am not positive) that the frame brackets are the same, but the radiator support itself is what makes the mount kit different.
I am rebuilding my 68 onto a 72 frame, and the brackets look identical to one another. |

I was wrong. The top pic is of the 68 brackets, the bottom pic is of the 72 brackets. I guess I will need to swap them. Thanks for waking me up to this fact!!!!!
Hmmmmm, I wonder if I could just leave the 72 brackets on the frame, and use the 69-72 mounts that came with my body mount kit? Guess I need to measure. |
Its easier to trim a large washer to the size of 67-68 mounts and weld it into the larger hole. If you can email me your address I can send pics of what Ive done to remedy this.

67-68 radiator support
Thanks Glock35ipsc for the pictures and Suville for your imput. I've been told there is a 1/4" difference in thickness between the 67-68 & 69-72 rad support bushings. This may be what is causing my alignment problems along with the aftermarket rad support. I put all my 68 orginal front clip together using my orginal 71 rad support just to see how everything aligned and it looked a lot better even tho I was using the 69-72 bushings. I know the headlight buckets are different on the rad supp but everything worked bolt up wise. Suville I will PM you my e-mail address so that you can please forward the picture of your method adapting the frame brackets. I wonder if it would be difficult to change out the frame brackets.....remove the rivets....etc. Thanks guys.

How thick is the core support rubber mount. I took mine off and threw it away and now I cant remeber how tall it was so I can mock up the dog house.
