Looking for a Cheap 71-72 4x4 Blazer
 

Looking for a 71-72 Blazer 4x4. Would like it running. I have cash now, and I don't need to sell anything to make the right deal happen. Im buying this as a winter project to help me keep my sanity when the weather sucks. It also needs to be in the Southern Oregon, Northern Calif area.
My last thread was overtaken by others that don't know the rules of the board. If anyone els is looking for the same deal, please start your own thread. Thank you. ;)

Yeah, the cost of 69-72 blazers seems to be a bit less than in SoCal (Recycler)

I missed one last summer in Northern Calif for $500. Hadnt run in years but it was complete.. Still look'n

I was wondering if you could give me a source to see how many 250/3spd 4wd Blazers were produced in 1970. I hope I am not imposing on you, but I have a feeling that you have the answer to my quest. THANKS

I really have no idea how many but I have in fact seen 4 in the past 30 years

Found a link to this 75 in Portland. Not a 71-72, but it doesn't sound like you have the budget for a first gen K5.

It seems that most of you think I dont have the funds to buy a 71-72. Just for the record, I could buy a dozen new ones if I wanted. Im just looking for a fixer to keep me busy over the winter. The problem here is that some people here think that their "vintage" Blazer is worth thousands of $$$$. Soooo wrong. If anyone looks for a few weeks, there is always someone that just wants to sell "grandpas" ole 72 for what ever they can get for it. I know because Ive bought several in the years past. Mark my word, I will find another. Im in no hurry by any means. With the price of fuel getting closer to $3 a gallon, I highly doubt that anyone except the hard core collector will own the early 60's high performance cars and 67-72 vintage trucks. In this area of Oregon, there are several trucks for sale at the $1000 mark. Its just a matter of finding the one that fills the bill. When I find one I like, I will buy. My thanks to the guys that have sent me leads. There have been a few guys that think they are the king of trucks and know it all. They have slamed me via e/mail. I just consider the source. I know these trucks inside and out. Right now, I have one deal in the works on a 71 K5. All it needs is brakes. We are a few bucks apart. I think within a week or so, the guy will just want it out of the driveway. If not, there is always another one. This one has the tac dash and tilt. Great deal and if I pass, Ill post the location and phone number. The latest set of adds, comes out Thursday. Im hopeing to find the long lost Blazer with great potential. I will keep all up to date. :metal:

A few years back, I found a 72K5 with a flat tire, dead battery, and out of gas. I bought it for $400 ! Thats right, $400. I went home, got a tire, 5 gallons of gas and a battery. The sucker started on the first crank and I drove it home. The deals are out there. You just have to look for them. So what if the guy is asking $10k for his beauty 72 that has rust on the floors, rockers and under the battery. Then he slapped a bit of bondo and claimed he dad a frame up restro. Most people would catch the mess and offer maybe $1500. So what if the guy gets insulted. The Blazer, with those problems is a fixer.. Period. Sometimes you get lucky and find grandpas Blazer and Grandma wants it gone since grandpa died. You score a cherry ride for next to nothing. Grandma is happy to see it GONE AND YOU SCORE A GREAT DEAL. Those deals are out there. You just have to go out and look at every one that is advertised. You never know what you may find!

Most of this board consists of the "hard core" collector, and my '72 is a daily driver.

I hope you find your $500-1000, running, rust free Blazer. The deals are out there, but most of the guys on this board know the value of these trucks. Remember, they don't build them anymore and they built less than 78,000 Blazers between 69 and 72. I'm always looking for the $500 '53 Corvette, but I'm not going to tell every corvette owner out there that they think their car is worth too much.

If anyone comes across a project for ILIVEFORTRUCKS to work on please take the time to PM him the info. In the meantime you could check out your local classifieds or see if any auction houses in your area ever get these trucks in. I am sure you will find what you are looking for if you look long and hard enough.
