Please take a look at these wheels

OK, first I really don't want to mention the boardmembers name but I bought these 15x 10 6 lug slots from him. I feel the wheels were not correctly represented. I asked this person if they were beat up or anything and this is his reply

No, they are actually in prety good shape. They need a good cleaning. And there is a couple of small (and I mean small) scratches on the edge. But on a scale of 1 to 10, when they are cleaned up, I would give them atleast an 8. If you need more pics, send me your email address.

I quess what I am asking some of you guys and gals on here is:
1.) Will these wheels even balance correctly
2.) Are they even safe to use
3.) How would you react

ChevyDude 10-29-2004 10:47 AM

IMHO....I would never use those wheels. Those are not an 8 either more like a 2 or a 3. I think he should take them back and refund your money if that is what you want. Next time get a picture of what you are buying just to make sure.

Just my honest opinion

dylan1970 10-29-2004 10:48 AM

Don't touch those wheels. You can find a nicer set at a scrap yard. And I would never trust those on any vehical. I'm no expert but I don't think you could balence them. I don't know how to react to something as bad as that... Are you sure the person who poasted them wasn't doing it as a joke....I doubt it... anyway Don't waste your time.

Terry Peerson 10-29-2004 10:50 AM

They look like JUNK to me! If I had bought wheels in that condition I would expect to be refunded. Clearly, they do not look safe and I wouldn't use 'em if I were you.

TP :bowtie:

raggedjim 10-29-2004 10:50 AM

I would be pissed, I have thrown away better wheels than that...

Sorry someone here did that to you...

Good luck, Roger

Jimbotronics 10-29-2004 10:53 AM

I would find it upsetting if another board member sent me that junk.

Bowtiefreak 10-29-2004 11:12 AM

Yea, I got pics but only of the front. The front of them are absolutely great. This is the first time I feel like I got burned from a boardmember. All other transactions with boardmembers were fine. Maybe the member will see this and want to make it right?

spencra 10-29-2004 11:21 AM

The only thing that I have to say is "WOW".

mdazb 10-29-2004 11:26 AM

Boat anchors....I'd be pissed. Hope this member is not selling anything else !!!!

A Lesson Learned

As stated allready get pics, one mans treasure ended up being your trash!
pm him or call let him know you are sending them back and exspect him to refund your money + shipping to him if he's a vendor there should not be any probs and if not post a thank you thread addressed to him "your given credit where credits do" right.either or you learned a lesson and hope it didnt set you back to much.

bouncytruck 10-29-2004 11:53 AM

Those look scary. I would never drive anything with wheels in that condition... If you paid through pay-pal, I would file your complaint ASAP. You only have 30 days to file the complaint. Also, if you used a credit card, start a claim now.

Bowtiefreak 10-29-2004 12:04 PM

I just pm him and asked for my money back. I paid with a money order.

chickenwing 10-29-2004 12:10 PM

Any chance the guy is just a bonehead and does not realize the danger? Give him a pm and the chance to save face. No responce in .... what 2, 3 days ... Then post the thank-you.

70c10 10-29-2004 12:27 PM

They don't even look like they would hold air!

boraxman 10-29-2004 12:30 PM

Demand a full refund :banghead:

Budweis 10-29-2004 12:51 PM

damn, you got more patience than me, if a board member sold me those with that description beforehand id have his name plastered all over this thread. thats ridiculous. i know id want him to pay for shipping to send back as well.

Putter 10-29-2004 12:52 PM

If the member hid the truth from you like that, most likely he won't give a crap. I doubt if he/she will try and make it right. Just my $.02

cheyenne10 10-29-2004 01:09 PM

shipping damages

Some of it looks fresh enough to have been damaged in shipping. I got 1 recently on here and was not packaged real well but lucked out and do not see any damages. Hopefully if damaged in transport they were insured. Just a possiblity.

stelth2002 10-29-2004 01:17 PM

I think that is horrible. I try and describe everything i sell. I would post the whoever did that if you dont hear from him soon. I think it breeds mistrust when stuff like this happens. The one wheel wont balance cause there is nothing to put a weight on.

Inspector722 10-29-2004 01:21 PM

I sold him the rims!

This as you say is my $.02.
I have PMed him just a few moments ago that I am very sorry for what he has recv'd. And have offered a refund. I bought the from Ebay without taking them out of the box when they got to my house. I opened all of the boxes and only looked at the face of them so am to ship him the best of the two out of the four that I had recv'd. I always try to give the best that I have when a board member wants something that I have got. And either I pay as soon as I can or ship the items as fast as I can. I have in fact be holding something for another member for 2 months till he can get down here to pick it up and he hasn't even paid for it yet.
Any good board member would have talked to the other member before posting messages and not finding out all of the facts first. This thread is not called for and I have seen this same thread on 2 or more other members that got started on here on jumping on them with out giving that person a chance to correct or answer any questions.
I really like the board for the most part and have made a few good friends on here. I KNOW THAT NO ONE ELSE HAS NEVER MADE A MISTAKE ON HERE EVER. :bs: If I can help anyone else on here in the future let me know.
Again I am sorry for what he got.
Stephen

I'm locking this thread.

I'm sure the inspector will do everything in his power to make it right with you.

You fellows hammer out the details via PM.

Always notify the seller first of your disatisfaction. Then, if you don't resolve the issue, send either me, Josh or Rod a PM next.
