Locking Glove Box??

Was a locking glovebox an option on our trucks or is it aftermarket? I bought a glove box door and it happened to come with a locking latch. I never really paid attention before or thought about it. Just curious.

To the best of my knowledge, some had 'em and some didn't. Mine doesn't.

Mine has one, far as I know it came that way. I don't know wether it's a factory thing (not listed on option sheet) or maybe a dealer item. I've seen several that I know were that way since birth so to speak, but no idea if it is a factory, dealer or something else type option.

I converted my golve box to a locking setup using a 65-66 car lock cylinder which has the same appearance. It is a direct fitup. I am sure other years will work, also.
