Has anyone changed cluster with idiot lights to one with gauges!!

My brother has a 69 that has the plain jane instrument cluster with the idiot warning lights, has anyone changed it to an instrument cluster with the factory battery/temp and oil pressure gauges, I know for a fact its not a swap.any help would be appreciated.

I did it on my 68. I got an underdash harness on eBay for something like $20 or $25. It is basically the fuseblock and the harness that comes off of it running to the gauge panel, ignition, lights and wipers, etc... With that, it was an easy swap. Someone on the board might have one, or look on eBay too. All you need is that harness. I think the presence of A/C or not will make a difference in the harness.

Try this link it explains the wiring changes that need to be made to the existing harness.
If you try to just plug it in as is I think that the fuel guage will smoke.
GMC Paul has some great deals check out his site and support the the vendors from this site that support this board for all of us to enjoy.

I used gmc pauls conversion,it is easy.you do not have two swap the harness.
it is about a hour to do and it works great! one of the best up grades you can do

Hmmm, I wish I knew about this earlier in the year!! Oh well, my old fuse block had a corner busted off anyhow, so a replacement was in order anyhow. :p
