newbie pics

Finally....I have my project truck! It took two weeks for the guy to make up his mind, but 10 Franklins was all it took ;) ! This is my father/son winter/spring/summer/fall project (however long it takes). It is a 69 step/swb with 350/350 combo. I thought the truck was running but I couldn't get it to crank for the life me. No compression, smoke from valve covers...yep new rings. But I hope to make a daily driver out of it in the future. My son is 11 now, so it may be his first vehicle. Anyway, love the site and I know I will have a ton of Q's for you guys to help me out with.

Father/son prjects are great! Here are some pics of ours. My youngest who posted those pics has had the 67 stepside since he was 10 (now 13). The 68 burb in the background is the 3rd project with my oldest who is 21. The other 2 were a 71 stepside and a 72 4x4.

Oh since you broached the tailight subject, my 2 cents. Go back to stock, it's the only stepside treatment that looks right IMO. Shown here in GMC garb
