Wiper motor or switch
 

The other day after driving to work in the rain, my wipers would not turn off when I turned the switch all the way to the right. I turned the ign. off, restarted and the wipers turned off but the did not stop all the way at the bottom of the stroke they were (close to the bottom). After driving to work today, they stop even further away from the bottom of the stroke (but they stop)

Does this sound like a motor or switch issue?

Sounds like the wiper motor, actually there is a set of points in the gear housing of the motor. A cam (cog, what ever) on the large gear that the wiper assembly is attached to comes around and opens the points to break the circuit. Just so happens that it does this when the wipers are down. I haven't figured out the whole circuit yet, but I do have a wiper motor here in front of me that tells me that much.

It is the park circuit in the wiper motor. One wire that goes to the motor is hot any time the key is on....when you cut the switch off, the wipers continue to run until they "park" at the bottom of the windshield

Tom, I got that. Now the points are there to break the circuit to ground right? There is a resistor by the points, I assume that is for the second speed, and a terminal on each side of the resistor. There are two connections on the third terminal inside the motor. One of the connetions goes to the switch and the other is hot, must be?? Then each side of the resistor goes to the switch for your 2 speeds? I should probably have crawled onder my dash and check, but it raining.
