It's time to sell the famous Tx Firefighter Cool As Hell (TM) truck.

I'll supply proof of over 7 thousand dollars spent in parts alone in the last 18 months. I'm asking 6 thousand dollars for the truck.

I'm the third owner of this thing. It's an original Texas truck with worn out original paint on everything but the front fenders. It's a solid truck, it doesn't need rockers or cab corners or any of that stuff.

I bought this truck as an untouched original 6 cylinder 3 speed no option truck.

Everything listed below, I've done, and all has less than 5k miles since I did it.

It's got a 35k mile since new 454 engine, a fully bulletproof turbo 400, new 1 piece driveshaft.

Converted to 5 lug front and 3.08 rear.

Lowered 4.5 and 6 using all the good stuff from ECE, super track bar, short KYB shocks.....

All new brakes, booster, master cylinder, hoses, bearings, calipers, pads, shoes, wheel cylinders....

Engine has been resealed with all new gaskets, seals, timing chain, new water pump, fuel pump, belts, hoses, 4 core radiator.....Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock 750 carb, new HEI.....

It's all detailed with POR 15 paint, lots of bead blasting, all correct and original pulleys, brackets, mounts, fan shroud...it's all done right. You can buy any part for an original big block truck at the parts store and it will fit like it should.

Inside has a tilt column, new dash pad, original uncut dash, radio block off plate, late model truck steering wheel.

Has 15x8 Cragars all around with BFG tires.

Converted to power steering, power brakes, and big swaybar. The swaybar is the FAQ article that I did, you can see picture of it over there.

I converted the front clip to 72 style with a billet grille insert and new chrome bumper.

This truck drives straight, doesn't leak, rub, bump, or grind. My wife can drive this truck without any trouble. I was a mechanic professionally for 12 years, so I do stuff right. I'm also an obsessive freak, so stuff has to be neat too.

New GM cab mounts too. New NOS GM exhaust manifolds, dual exhaust with Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers, new battery cables, Lokar kickdown kit for transmission.

Since these pictures, I did the new dash pad, tilt column, new steering wheel, and converted dash to guages from idiot lights, and put original block off plate in dash.

I think I can get you a 67 or 68 short wheelbase dually. With a 327 in it. it was running propane but hasn't ran in a while. I think the head cracked. it has no bed on it. and is a one ton.. let me know.

Longhorn Man 11-14-2004 10:30 PM

a SWB one ton dually???

Tx Firefighter 11-14-2004 10:38 PM

I think he means a 133 inch dually rather than a 157 inch truck.

Longhorn Man 11-14-2004 10:40 PM

duh...I shoulda known that.
Where is the smiley face with crossed eyes saying DUH?

67ChevyC10Stepside 11-15-2004 02:53 AM

if u end up parting it can i get the auto linkage?

71Longbed 11-15-2004 02:59 AM

i would not part that out no matter wut

Tx Firefighter 11-15-2004 08:00 AM

Chevy72402, I already have a 72 dually, I just need one on the road right now. My dually needs work to be ready and I have business waiting on me. I need a runner right now so I can work ASAP. I don't think I'd want another non runner right now.

Everyone else, it's just a truck. There's thousands of them all over the place. It wounldn't be sacrilege to part it out. That 454 is worth some coin and so is the lowered chassis stuff. I think I can make it worth as much as parts as it is assembled. All of the stuff underneath the truck has been detailed and rebuilt, so I won't have any trouble selling it off on the parts board.

Tx Firefighter 11-15-2004 05:59 PM

Fellows, there seems to be some confusion here amongst some guys. I do not have time to wait around for this thing to sell.

I'm dead serious when I said I'll part the truck out. If it's not sold and gone by the weekend, I'm pulling it apart on Saturday. No joke.

I'm still waiting on some emailed pictures on possible trade deals for running duallys, otherwise, it's going to be a busy Saturday.

See, I have a welding/ fabrication business and I need another work truck, like bad. My 72 dually has no drivetrain in it now, so if this truck doesn't sell by Saturday, the 454 and transmission and all of the stuff that goes with it is getting stripped out of the short bed and put into the dually so I can use it to work starting Monday.
