what are D44/ 12 bolt axles worth?

i have a guy lined up to buy my whole blazer.

basicly all thats good is the front D44 and the 12 bolt rear. the top is also pretty good (its gutted) it has a few minor things like the front driveshaft, ect. im not sure about the rear gears, but there was a tag on the front D44 that said 3.07, so im sure there 3.07/8's and the rear could be a posi??? but if it is its worn out because last year in the snow it acted like an open diff most of the time... but sometimes both spun.

he's offered me $100 to haul the whole thing.

i imagine the axles are worth more, but its impossible for ME to get rid of the body/frame after i pull the axles, so i'm willing to sell it cheaper as a whole... just to get rid of it.

ive seen 3.73 and 4.10 axles go for 3-400... and i know the combo of having to take the whole thing, and the gears being 3.07's drops the value.

am i practicly giving it away? or is this reasonable for what it is?

thanks, zach

The bigger problem with those two axles if finding someone who wants them - most people who are changing axles are going for more strenght. I would say $100 to $200 would be the most they would be worth. Is it a disc brake front axle? If so, that helps alot.

yes its a disc axle...

there in the 73 blazer, and i assume are original.

sounds fair to me then, since whoever buys it has to take the rusty body to!

I sold mine to a guy for $400.00 but the front end was rebuilt about 2 years ago. They came out of 72 blazer. :metal:
He put them in a Toyota 4x4. :)

Being a 73 they may have "flat top" knuckles which are good, but most people use a driver drop D44 for SAS projects but theres almost always somebody looking for flat top knuckles to do a crossover setup on a chevy or to do a high-steer setup.

Generally they seem to go for 100-200 dollars for a set, I paid 100 bucks for a 10/12 bolt combo with 3.42s and a gov-loc.
