Another fab project completed on the 68 (pics)

I've been thinking about doing this for awhile now, and since my new shop toys came today, I couldn't resist jumping on it.

I had already welded up the hole for the blower motor, but I didn't like how that side of the firewall had the "jog" in in, compared to the rounded part on the drivers side. So I filled it in. The new shrinker/stretcher I got today was just the thing I needed to do this too!

Glock, you are a truck building stud.

Everyone needs to look and learn from this guy. He's a master.

Cethern 11-20-2004 10:47 AM

Glock,
Too cool, I just got done doing the very same thing last month. I just never seem to post pics tho. I think both of us are at about the same spots on our trucks.
Have fun

glock35ipsc 11-20-2004 01:25 PM

Thanks for the comments guys! Doing this stuff is just too much fun! I enjoy learning how to do new things as I go through this project. I figure this will be the one and only time I have to do EVERYTHING I have always had in mind if I were to customize a truck. They are all small and subtle, by I know they are there.

silvertonguedevil - The more little things I get done to her, the more excited I get too! I can't wait until this thing is ready for paint! :D

Tx Firefighter - Dude, you are embarrasing me!! I am just a VERY lucky guy, very lucky to have the place and the means to do this stuff. I am nothing more than a shade tree hacker having the time of my life learning new things!!!

Cethern - We are about an hour apart, come have a beer anytime!

roj2323 - If I can get my other cab brought over to my place from my Dad's so I had a pattern, I may be able to do that.........

Bowtiefreak - I think this is the best mod that can be done to the firewall next to shaving the heater stuff. Get some pics up dude!!

Yukon Jack 11-20-2004 04:14 PM

Looks really great! Can't beat having fun doing something like that.

glock35ipsc 11-20-2004 08:34 PM

It's the most fun I've had since....well, that's private :)

I just finished up doing a frenched antenna on the drivers side a little while ago. I'll get some pics up later on.

Orange70chevy 11-20-2004 09:26 PM

Wow that looks great. I would like to see a photo of it when you get it primered. Keep up the good work.

FRENCHBLUE72 11-20-2004 10:15 PM

Look's damn good I have been about half way through that same mod for about 3 month's now ,just can't seem to find the time to finish it....

kingsolver72 11-21-2004 04:59 AM

Glock,I see you have a scooter in your garage. What is it?

MOTHERTRUCKERS 11-21-2004 10:20 AM

Damn they got a tool for that?? I used a sand bag and a mallet to do that on 68LS1's truck. I gotta keep up with these new fangled inventions their making.

2004 Yamaha V-Star. I wanted a Harley Fat Boy. but didn't like the $15,000 price tag!! Got the Yammy for $5600 brand new, and I got them to throw in the windshield! Looks just like it, sounds just like it, runs just like it, just a lot of $$$ less!

Randy70C-10 11-21-2004 11:55 AM

Amen!! Plus, I saved lots of money so I could trick it out...bought some sweet saddlebags and modified them, made some highway bars, better exhaust, rejetted the carb, better intake system. Runs like a bat outta hell now, and sounds 10x better! :burnout:
