questions about rotors/spindels
1 Attachment(s)
I was wondering where I could get a new set of slotted rotors and new spindels for my 76. Also, while were at it I was also wondering where I can get the "stabilizer" bar for the rearend, my truck has been lowered 5-7 and I am afraid of losing the performance and handling, or if anything..improving it...thanks for your input! :flag:

Not to hijack this but did you put your box back on yet? I need a good rear pic of a stepper with no bumper but the box ON & saw one a while back that you posted & your bumper was gone. I need to get an idea where to mount my exhaust & my box is off of my truck still. Thanks...corn

2 Questions
1.) How is your truck lowered 5" in the front, with stock spindles? 2.) Why is your radiator sloped? |

No problem, Pay no attention to the shackles being right at the end of the frame. That comes from my truck being a LWB Heavy Half so it has the 57" springs and not the 52"s that come on SWB's. I'm going to have to get some shorter springs to run a bumper, but I may just put a pan on it and leave them alone?? I only have about 1/2" from the shackle mounts to end of the frame.

It depends what rotor size you have. I tryed to find sloted rotors and had a heck of a time. I did locate a slotted rotor for each size. SP Performance has a "diamond cut" slotted rotor for 1" and Powerslot rotors have rotors for 1 1/4". Please note that powerslot refuses to say their rotors will work for our trucks - It is listed under 1/2 ton 2wd suburban. Any question please ask. I have the powerslots on my truck now. the SP rotors can be bought at www.jcwhitney.com and the Powerslot one can be bought at www.stylinconcepts.com As for the sway bar, it should only help handeling but may make the ride slightly worse. I don't know about clearance. I know ocbaud has a rear stabilizer on his truck.

Whats the part numbers for the 1 1/4 slotted rotors?

5/7 huh? You may or may no know, that thing is going to bottom out like mad in the rear if you don't notch it.

i know it will, I actually bought a bag kit for the rear and a complete front end re-build, I am more interesteed in being comfprtable then I am in speed, although it's a chevy...i got that too!

i had to flip my rear bar under the axle. its a hellwig unit that Mike had on his truck and sold whenever he put the flipkit on his truck. i could tell a noticable difference with it on.
