I can buy a 55 Chev 4 door sedan that is in fair shape
and is still plated!

What should I offer this guy??? :confused:

It all depends on the shape of the car mostly. Plus everybody has their own price. Ive seen these cars go really high and Ive also seen some people get a hell of a deal and find one cheap. I know the guy who owns the 55 in the below link. If I remember right, he gave around $15,000 for it.

On the risk of insulting the owner,I always have them tell me a starting price.Or a workable figure anyway.

What condition is the car in?

If its in fair shape, meaning it has paint but would need repainted or some work, runs but needs engine cleaned up, decent interior...that kinda thing id say its worth around 4,500-5,500. Since its a 4 door. But I havent seen the car so my guess could be WAY off.
