Need valve cover help... Christmas gift.
http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...69&prmenbr=361
Wanting to get these Edelbrock valve covers for my husband for the 70 step, but not sure if I need the "Tall-350-4249" or the "Low Profile-350-4248" Hes got a 327 in his truck, and I dont see an option for the 327, wouldn't the 350 fit?? Thanks in advance. junk |
the 350 covers will work fine, as long as he dont have any huge roller rockers or anything the low profiles will be good. They are at least as tall as the factory ones.
I would go with the talls Junk. They give the impression that the engine is bigger than it really is :D You 2 have one of the nicest collection of 67-72's I've seen. I have wanted your hubbies truck for many years now. It has a killer stance as well as that sweet 327!! But it needs some dubification (flames ) :D
I agree with dubie, get the tall ones, next year the roller rockers will fit under them:D
If the alternator is in the factory position it won't clear tall covers easily.
Jodie- Unless you plan on ( or rather HE plans on ) modifying the valvetrain, I would stay with the lower height ones. The tall ones can be a hassle to get on and off with accesories and such.
Just my opinion, which these days isn't even really worth the 2 cents it costs!! |
i would go with the short ones also
I like tall valve covers myself. I have a set M/T's but I can not use them until I move my Alt from the OEM postion with a newer style mount or a different Alt bracket. Oh the other thing I look for in a valve cover are Baffles
Who wants to have to change the alternator brackets just to run tall covers?
Also, they usually hit the A/C brackets too. Short covers are much easier to live with as long as he's not got killer roller valvetrian in the 327. |
I went with the short ones, Just linke on my burb, also got the matching air breather... :D:D... Thanks for all the replies!!
