different valve speed (air ride)
right now i am running the air ride tech valves and have thought about moving up to the big red valves, im running 3/8 airline, how much faster would it be if i didnt change anything but valves?
|
You probably wouldn't notice a very big difference. Unless you bought the big red valves and went to a 1/2" line. With 3/8" line your not utilizing the port size on the big red valves.

A big red valve is considerably faster than a ride pro. Even if both are using 3/8" line. But the big reds are still slow compared to the other 3/8" valves on the market. I used to run big reds on my truck, and before them, I had ride pros. So I have made a direct compairson. Now I run 3/8" smc's. combines with 3/8" line, it makes a nice medium speed system.

I have to agree with MP4/8. I put a Ride Pro 3/8's system on my Blazer way before the Big Red valves were available. I have the Big Red 3/8's on my 77 and it is waaaaay faster.
Unless you want to run high pressure and clown with your switches I don't see a reason for it to be faster. I have a single switch set to dump all my system with one touch and it lays out from ride height in about a second.... |
The thing is the Big Red is 3/8 ports anyway. If you want to have 1/2 valves you will have to buy them seperately. I sell Extreme Valves for a good price. So hit me up if you want to up grade. You will have to get new fittings and line so you can have more air.
Price differenct The Big Red 749.00 8 Extreme 450 valves-440.00 shipped I would save the 309.00 and us it on the truck. |
i only thought about upgrading because it would be a plug and play deal, its not bad now but once i get a few miles on it ill want to be able to lift it faster.
|
You will notice a much faster drop time with the Big Red's too. Just set it up to dump off of one switch and it will lay out much faster....
|
can you get the wiring diagram for how you had yours done with the one switch?
|
I have the BIGRed valves and love them!

I run 1/2 valves in front pretty close to the front bags, I think they are Parker. At about 150 psi the front almost comes of the ground. But I really need to put adjustabe mufflers on the dump valves because it drops way to fast. My rear are 3/8 and not so close to the bag and they are perfect speed unless you want to just play.

I had the 1/4" Ride Pro's on my 83 and personally liked the speed. I'm not into playing much, although I had 12 gallons of air and an engine driven compressor. :D

Probably not, I would never run anything but an engine driven. Saw one on a NBS dually that had a custom sheet metal cover and the case was fully polished.
