Replaced Headlight switch...Not the problem.
So the fuses all look good too, the switch is new. The wires look fine and no cuts, tears or anything in the wires, plugged in firmly. no Lights still....
Suggestions welcome. Thanks! |
Fuseable link?
|
You must not have given it enough love lately
|
mine was the dimmer switch one time before
|
Do you have a volt meter? test light? If so I would start by checking to see if you have voltage on both sides of your fuse. Then I would check to see if you have voltage at the switch. Then I would check if you have voltage at the lights. You could test these in any order but remember that once you find a spot that doesnt have voltage dont stop until you fing the next place in line that does.

Any of you know which fuse it is for sure?? I dont see any blown and none labeled headlights.
|
are you testing the fuses or are you just looking at them? Some times they dont look blown but they are. As for the exact fuse location... sorry, I bet some one else will be able to tell you though. I thought it said h lights or some to that effect but im not sure.
hope that helps. |
Checked all fuses one by one...all fine.
No power getting to the wires for the headlights. :( Hmmm...what could cause this to happen all the sudden, Wires look fine and connections are good. Should I just run new wires to the fusebox and call it quits? |
Have you checked for power at the Hi-Lo beam switch? I'm not positive but I believe there is a relay for the headlights not a fuse.
|
I have hi/lo on the stalk, built into the signal indicator.
There is no power getting to the high beams or low beams. Although, my signal stalk is screwed up and wont go back and forth from hi to lo....how does that come out?? or do I have to have the column torn apart to put a new one in? :) |
My blazer did that for a while too, it was the connector on the drvers headlight. I had to take some WD and clean the connectors really good and I havent had a problem since. Good luck

Connections are good...there is just no power getting down to the end of the connection itself. :(
|
Sounds like your dimmer switch is hung up between hi and lo. Mine is starting to stick and when I try to put the light on bright, they go out.
|
that was happening for a while. but now just nothing.
SO.....How does one go about replacing the turn signal/hi/lo switch on the column?? |
Buy a Haynes or Chilton Manual and follow the instructions. Or I can bring mine to work and copy or scan them and send them to you, by fax or e-mail.
