1972 LWB Tank Relocation

I was thinking today that it would be nice to get the tank out of the cab and under the truck where it belongs. The only problem is I have no idea how to do that. The truck is a 1972 Long Box with rear leafs. I have a few questions about tank relocation:
1. Where can I get a gas tank to do this (what fits)?
2. How do I deal with the fuel lines and fuel gauge?
3. Where does the fuel filler door end up?
4. Is there a patch panel to fill in the old filler neck hole in the cab?
5. How much modification is there to the truck?

I figure its probably best to get the fire hazard out of the cab, and plus it takes up room for storage, stereo, etc.

1. Most if not all the board suppliers carry the Blazer tank conversion kit.
2. Run a new fuel line from the new blazer tank to the fuel pump. For the gauge you just need to lengthen the existing wire to get to the connection on the new tank.
3. You're on your own for fuel doors. Some people find a Blazer filler neck. Others do a trick through the side marker light filler.
4. One member used to make a filler for he stock neck hole. I don't know if they are still available. Some guys hack that part out of the other side of a junk cab.
5. None. Unless you have an under the bed spare tire. That is where the Blazer tank goes.

67-72 Blazer tank is what you'll need. Either a factory Blazer tank or after market blazer tank from one of the board vendors.

Do a search on this forum for "Blazer tank", that should get you the rest of the info you need. Also try the FAQ, someone did a nice write up on the swap complete with pics.
Good luck
