is it a 4wd case with 6 3/8 bolts or is it a 2wd case with 4 1/4 20 holes?

Yeah, sorry for leaving out the details. It's a 4x4.
Never had a 2wd 350 auto, only 4x4's, was unaware there's a difference, thanks for the info.

I am not aware of any difference in the early 4x4 TH 350 transmissions. We have (6) 70-72 4x4's and two extra trannys for 4x4's and they all take the same cover as the 2 WD with the 168 tooth flywheel/flexplate.

I would suggest looking at what you have.

I have a good plastic one if you want it, (fits all of our 4x4's). $6 to your door.

The plastic one off my 1971 Monte Carlo (th350) is bolted to my truck right now (th350 4x4).
