swallowed a quarter last night-should i be worried?

hey this is really stupid guys but last night i swallowed a quarter accidentally, some people were sitting around the table playing quarters and i grabbed a cup later on and poured a drink into it and when i had the drink the damn quarter went down the hatch, i never noticed because i thought it was part of an ice cube :banghead: should i just let nature run its course? im sure it cant be that serious....anyone ever do anything this stupid before?

I would think that it would just pass right on through. Now how bad you want to "dig" for the quarter after that is entirely up to you. :D

Um, I don't know if I'd let it run it's course. I myself would go to the Dr. just to be safe. Be warned, you may get a few funny looks! :D

"...study conducted in 1972 found that 105 of 150 coins (70%) and 35 of 50 bills (70%) sampled were contaminated with many types of bacteria. Twenty of the 105 contaminated coins (19%) and 21 of the 35 contaminated bills (60%) contained potential bacterial pathogens, such as Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, or Pseudomonas aeruginosa."
