wheel cylinders help
 

How do you remove the wheel cylinders from the front. Brakes are drum and truck is a half ton. Warning rookie at work here :) :metal:

There are 2 small bolts on the backside of the backing plate, they might be hard to distinguish because they are so small and rust eats away at them. Chances are that they will be rusted on and you will break them while you are trying to get them off.

I hope I dont break em. So do this.
Jack up truck, remove tire, remove hub, remove rubber brake line from the wheel cylinder, looking at the back of the wheel cylinder unbolt then two bolts and remove wheel cylinder. Did I miss anything?

I don't think you missed anything but if the brake line is original you probably wont get that off in one piece either.

Its not original. Po had the brakes done 2 yrs before I bought it but whoever did it put in the wrong bleeders. They are to short and rounder off so I cant bleed the brakes on it.

Fronts are held on with That HUGE nut and stud. That's what the huge hole on top of the FRONT wheel cyl is for.

You did miss something, you will have to take the brakes apart first to remove the cylinder.

If your takin the cylinder off, I'd wait till the cylinder was un-bolted to take the flexi brake line off. once the cylinder is free, you can just spin it off, and the hose wont wind up,,It's easy to put the hose on the new cylinder that way too. put the hose on , then mount the new cylinder to the backing plate. IMHO
