1984 Doe skin Tan color....
Hi all..
I have a 84 GMC Sierra Classic 4by4 It is Doe skin Tan and Frost white.... it is a real "looker" it is fully restored and I have only once or twice ever crossed paths with another like it, could any one tell me if there is a way to find out if there were many produced that year in that color combo, thanks ..GTA..... :) also i forgot to ask this truck has a "mahogany" color interior, ( light bronze color ) has any one found a exact replica of the fabric ( i am really picky ) I have one tiny small tear starting along one of the seams and i would like to re-do the entire seat, thanks ...... |
Did you try Original Auto Interiors at www.originalauto.com ? They made me new factory seat covers for my 61 T-Bird using the original bolt stock. They have excellent sources for getting the original interior materials.

Hey GTA, I have an 86 custom deluxe that is all Doe skin Tan with mahogany interior. I'm going to repaint my truck this year going to a 2 tone. Could you send a pic of your's. I don't remember seeing a 2 tone using the Doe skin color?

I've never seen those colors used together. I think I'm going to repaint the Doe skin and use a Rootbeer color as a 2 tone...

My ex-father-in-law had a '78 C20 Crewcab with the cream-white in the middle and buckskin on the top and bottom. Made a good looking truck, especially for being a crewcab.

re truck..
Thanks Jeff, I hope every one likes it, it was a LOT of work, and now only see's sunny dry day's, I drive a 2 wheel drive in winter and a 4 by 4 in the summer, oh well.... :) :) :) Sean

That's a good looking truck Sean. I can't decide which 2 tone style I'm going with. Probably like the blazer that Ken posted but putting the tan where the white is on that blazer and using a rootbeer where the tan is...

Thanks, I like the idea for your color as well, I think it would look great .sean :)......

I had an 85 Blazer that was solid Doe Skin Tan outside with tan interior. When I bought it there wasn't another one that color around here. Later a couple of others showed up. Nice cool color and doesn't show dirt much.

Hey Sean, here's a shot of Moya. She's not as good looking as your truck, but will be one day...

hi 72... It's a start....I love that color, :)
did any one ever have their truck "documented" through GM historical services?? I did and here is how it breaks down....2101 Produced for sale in Canada....( same model # only ) 4wd long box 1/2 ton and 650 with YE9 ..."Sierra Classic" though it does not give a color break down...does any one have the American production #'s as well or the color break down would even be better, thanks sean.... |
I haven't,but I do have the original order form that came with my truck. I know that GM used that color code 61 for a few years...
