NP205 Speedo Drive Gear
 

1980 K-10 4-speed, NP205 case.
It's been 20+ years since I had one apart. I need to replace the speedo drive gear. The local Chevrolet dealer laughs when I ask if a copy of the transfer case manuel is still in their library. At least I was able to Xerox the parts manuel, about 1000 pages, but well worth the effort.
Looking at the parts diagram helps some, is there a copy of the manual available on CD, PDF, or if someone could explain the process, it would be much appreciated.
The tailshaft is easy to remove, but the bearing retainer proves to be difficult, as the snap ring on the outside bearing race will not slide over the output shaft.
