stuiped question whats the arrow that is setting on 70 for?
is that like a cut off point?or is it a cruise option?where you set the
arrow on a certain speed once you get there it sets it self.
how far off am i?

Canadian694x4 02-07-2005 10:24 PM

That is a lot of options! Sweet Longhorn~!!! That's a member's Truck, yes? Is he selling it??

68 Stepside 02-07-2005 10:25 PM

LOL, Mark...I think Jeff has guns....I don't think I'd wanna try and take his prized possession....LOL

Kurt, the white pointer is "speedwarning", could be had on a lot of cars back in the day. Basically you hit that set speed and a buzzer sounds under the dash, that "warns" you that you're going overspeed.

68 Stepside 02-07-2005 10:26 PM

It's LonghornJeff's truck, and I think he'll be buried in it

whats that in the frist pic beside the seat and seat belt ?

68 Stepside 02-07-2005 11:14 PM

I *think* that's the outlet box listed on the glovebox, but I'm probably wrong. I'll have to ask Jeff again.

tnblazerk5 02-07-2005 11:24 PM

i have never seen one of those!!! what ever it is  :hm:

Robert1970C20rstbukt 02-07-2005 11:25 PM

That's an AWESOME truck! :metal:

Longhorn Man 02-07-2005 11:43 PM

I drove this sucker a couple years ago, and I'll tell you what, it is the smoothest riding truck I have driven...and I'm not compairing it to all my hoopties...I'm talking Hucks's nice blue and white one, Jewels' red short/step...Jeff's own 71 short/fleet....any POS truck I've ever owned. His just rides awsome hands down.
Jeff's is also the most options I've seen in person, yet an interesting point I mentioned to TJ this evening...the cargo light is missing...never installed....same with the headliner...no holes for it either. This is a CST truck...they should both be there.
And the green wheels...they sure look original to me, same amoun t of fade, same shade of green....ect. Original??
Oh, and those hubcaps TJ mentioned...they are cherry. Not a ding, not a scratch...nothing. They are as perfect as used can be. He won't mount them for fear of damage/thieft. (I don't blame him either)
A few ppl have mentioned the fact that it doesn't have buckets...if you look at the list, there is also an optional center seat belt listed, the original owners probably had a 3 person family...therefor, no buckets.
When Jeff bought it, there were coolant hoses routed to the bed for the camper that lived there almost all it's life. That's what TJ is holding in pic #7, the remains of the camper heating system.
I'll shut up so Jeff has something left to say when he gets on here after work tonight.
Oh and Jeff...I tried callin tonight...TJ already filled me in....I'll get you two back...I don't know when, I don't know where....nor do i know how....BUT, I will get you two back.
That makes twice you've done this to me.

HOTFUN 02-07-2005 11:48 PM

That is one mighty loaded truck. Are you buying it or is the owner just antaganising us old truck lovers?
I'd pay dearly for factory original dash cluster like that.
