Alexis 02-09-2005 12:15 AM

how to get rid of a seat........

throw it away.......

sorry

I sometimes put crap on the sidewalk or street with a sign "FREE". Always does the trick.

67ChevyC10Stepside 02-09-2005 12:25 AM

lol..well this thing aint very attractive...dont think that would work too well....might just drive up the road and have it "accidentally" fall out in the woods lol....

krazy_texan 02-09-2005 12:44 AM

if you carry many passengers in your truck you can put a cheap cover on it and then put it in the bed, lol

Longhorn Man 02-09-2005 12:55 AM

Not in PA he couldn't. They'd drag him into jail for something like that. There state gov is almost as bad as cali.
I just tossed mine in the dumpster.

krazy_texan 02-09-2005 12:59 AM

oh yeah i forgot about that i guess that comes with living in rural texas your whole life, you are just used to getting away with stuff like that.

68w/sbc406 02-09-2005 01:03 AM

go to your local apartment complex and set it by the dumpster. my GF's old apartment had a dumpster that auto compacted stuff after you threw stuff in, we threw soooo much stuff in there

67ChevyC10Stepside 02-09-2005 01:04 AM

good idea....should i keep anything from it?

Fred T 02-09-2005 01:07 AM

Solution one. Put the seat on the front porch, if there's room between the old sofa and recliner.

Solution two. Set it next to the curb with a for sale for $20 sign. It should disappear overnight, unless you live in a real good neighborhood.

green68c10 02-09-2005 01:10 AM

Take that crap to the land fill.I'll cost you 3 small DUCKYS

67ChevyC10Stepside 02-09-2005 01:13 AM

our land fill is ghey...they are like 45 bucks per truck or something...it dont matter how much you take in the truck...

green68c10 02-09-2005 01:15 AM

I hope you get a kiss with that $45.

67ChevyC10Stepside 02-09-2005 01:24 AM

yeah it was rediculous...when we moved we wanted to get rid of some stuff and they were like 45 bucks....and it was like a half truck bed of stuff...

rustyold72 02-09-2005 01:28 AM

Too bad you're halfway across the country, I'd take that seat, matches the one in the 71 (same pattern)

Rollie396 02-09-2005 01:28 AM

The bench in my truck was redone not long before I got it and it is real comfy. It's my new "couch" for the garage.

longnlow72 02-09-2005 02:26 AM

if it flips forward u give it to me ;)

67ChevyC10Stepside 02-09-2005 02:54 AM

your in washington though....

ACES 02-09-2005 03:05 AM

Is there a little metal piece about 2 or 3 inches long on the drivers' side that keeps the seat locked in that position? So it doesn't slide forward or backward.
Mine is broke and I would like to find another one.
My description is terrible. Let me know if you know what I'm talking about.

vtblazer 02-09-2005 08:14 AM

Hide It

With big stuff like that, I just dismantle it/cut it up and throw it away a little bit at a time. Otherwise it's big bucks as a whole.
Strip the covering/padding and get out the sawzall.

nartkers 02-09-2005 12:28 PM

Yeah, I tried to throw mine away. the regular trash pick up would not take it. the local dump is $83 per 4x8 pickup bed!! It is a major rip offf, and the guy that helps you unload it ends up putting most of it on his trailer

67ChevyC10Stepside 02-09-2005 12:41 PM

you got a picture aces? a couple miles away there is a place out in the middle of nowhere where people dump tires and stuff that bigs and a pain to get rid of....lol

shortymac83 02-09-2005 01:13 PM

I'm with the other guys that mentioned to put it on the front porch. Right next to your beer fridge.

beaterC10 02-09-2005 01:17 PM

Find a self service car wash, they normally have decent size dumpsters. If you wash your truck first then you are cleanining out the interior when you roll by the dumpster.

GreyHoundSteve 02-09-2005 01:19 PM

I had thrown out an old torn up chair in my apartment dumpster and then later that day when i went to toss out my trash someone had taken the chair. That chair wasnt is much worse shape than that seat so dont be suprised if some dumpster digger doesnt use it as a couch or something. You know what they say ..... one mans trash is another mans treasure.

junkyardjohn 02-09-2005 02:08 PM

 I'VE FOUND THAT GARBAGE MEN WILL TAKE ALMOST ANYTHING YOU TAPE A $5.00 BILL TO. :hm: :hm: JOHN
