Support W/no inner fenderwells?
 

Quick question? I pulled out my inner fenderwells the other day to clear the 20"s, and now the bottom of the fender at the rear of the fender is loose. For those of you that have done it, have you reinforced it in any way, or built a bracket of the body or frame? Just curious, I know alot of you have removed them, but haven't heard anything about supporting that portion?

Not trying to steal your thread, I was thinking of putting 20's on my truck. I am going to put air bags on my truck, so 20's won't fit under the front inner fender wells?

bottom of the fender should bolt to the cab, i dont have inner fenders on mine either.

First to jugernot, 20's will fit fine, I am just going to lower it alot so they had to be removed for extreme drop.

Second, lost wages, It is bolted at the cab, but the front portion, about 8" forward of that is no longer attached to anything, and rattles now.

DO YOU MEAN THE FRONT CUP OF THE FENDER :confused:

I also took out my fender wells but for bigger tires and suspension movement.I noticed the when opening and closing the hood it puts alot of pressure on the inner fender.Has anyone done anything to help aid in this stress?I was thinking of welding braces between the inner and outer fender.BTW the fender coming loose in the rear bottom area...from my experiences it was because the inner fender was broke in that area.A temporary fix would be to use a large washer on it..although i would suggest welding it back together.Just my .02 cents.

i have run a couple old trucks with no inners....no issues. My longhorn has a steel tilt clip......some bracework on the nose, but no probs on the rear of the fenders......69L
