Core 454

I have a 454 that I bought for a rebuilder, but I have a chance to get a runner for a decent price. this thing is complete it has all the brackets for AC, power steering, and alt. even has the bracket for the cruse thingy  and torque converter on it. I would like 500 for it. It is out of a 80 something chevy truck. I have the casting numbers if wanted.

What condition is the motor in

Ring Master 02-13-2005 11:48 PM

Do you meah is it still assembled? If so then yes it is still one.

soulman67 02-13-2005 11:56 PM

I was wanting to know if it was still assembled, which you answered. I would also like to know if it still turns over easy, and if it ran. Basicly I want to know If it could just be overhaulded to be used.

I am looking for a stock 454 that needs overhauled to put in my 72 C20 Project. I am interested but I am short on money till my Bronco sells on ebay.

Ring Master 02-14-2005 12:00 AM

Yes it still truns over easy but when I bought the motor it was all ready out of the truck so I have not heard it run. I have pulled the valve covers and everthing looked good. No big piles of build up or anything.

soulman67 02-14-2005 12:11 AM

I would love to have it, cause today I burned down my parts truck that had a motor I planned on rebuilding for my 72. And all my old parts cars and all spare engines.
It took 4 fire truck to put the fire out. So I have to see if I can salavge anything are just run the stuff to the crusher.

I'll see if I can come up with the money, I know I will have it if I get my Bronco sold, I have a guy in Austin who wants it if he can come up with the money.

I've got a 77 454/core complete that I had put on here for sale or trade for a Cad 500. I mentioned the ad to some guys on a Cad performance board and was told by a 2 or 3 that back east it would fetch $500-$800 at a performance machine shop as they are real scarce there? I don't notice that many for sale around here, [wichita, Ks] -can't hardly give it away. someone will need it eventually.
