Burb fuel tank?
 

Will a 72 burb fuel tank work in a 73 Chevy pickup chassis? I know you can do the mod w/73-91 blazer tanks, and I think 67-72 blazer/suburban tanks were the same. I know no matter which you use you will have to make a few brackets but thats no problem. I'm just wondering if the tank will fit since I already have one lying around.

If it is a longbed, yes, shortbed, I don't believe so. I am putting an EFI burban tank onto my K25 chassis, and other than having to move the usual three brackets, I've not run into any problems :)

Exactly what am I going to have to do to make it fit then? Right now my truck is setup for dual tanks but I'd have to run all the wiring and new hoses and stuff and I'd rather just bypass all that, or maybe just stick with a single tank but my bed still has holes for dual tannks. What would my options be for a filler if I used a burb tank?

If you are not running EFI, why not run two tanks on the one side, just cut out the bed side in the back for the burb tank filler neck, and put it in place of the door you cut out from the other side? Either that or just make a couple patch panels and fill them in :)

I plan to cut the door out of the front and move it to the back, with the spare metal from the back filling the front.

Yeah, but I don't wanna have 2 doors on one side of the bed. I was thinkin maybe a hole in the floor, but that would probably require a lot of fabrication. I've seen some people also put the filler behind the taillight, and put the taillight on a hinge. Has anyone done either of these in our trucks?

I'd be quite difficult...

I'd just find a decent bed, cut the patch you need out, put it in on one side, then swap door for patch for the other part :)
