GMC van TBI?

So there is a GMC 2500 van for sale around the corner from my house. The guy hasn't called back yet so I am not sure what year it is. Its kind of a sketchy deal (to much info for here) but the van is parked with $250 and like three phone #'s painted on it with the white stuff car dealers write on their windshields with. It also says runs?
I looked it over a little bit and I am assuming TBI (because its FI), it has O/D and the diagram under the hood says 5.7L. The bad part is it has 272,xxx miles on the odometer.
Its pretty much a POS but for $250 is this thing worth it for the FI and O/D, if only for a core? Would the FI be worth using with 272k on it?

It depends on weather it was maintained on a regular basis or just the fix it as it breaks approach.

It sounds like you want to transplant it on to another vehicle.

I think you could get a complete TBI sys. from a j/y for alot less than $250

Hell down here at the u-pick it you can get a complete 5.7 TBI Eng. for $250 but you have no idea how much milage is on it. cuz it's out of the vehicle allready.

I'm not so much concerned about the engine as the actual TBI itself, and all related harnesses or whatever else would be required to install.
The tranny would be a nice bonus as well.
The vans gone now so I'm not sure what the story is?
