here is mine from another post

My dad always helps me out when things are tough but my mom does too.......
My girlfreinds dad came over and helped me fix the loud whining noise coming from the engine at high throttle. It was just a loose fan belt. He left, I came inside, and later that night I left. The next day I called her and told her that I had replaced the master cylinder......and she said "oh ok, but I thought you fixed that loud noise, I told your father you did anyways, it sounded like it..."
I told her I did....what a great mom....always ahead of the game!!!! :bowtie:

I have 2 big helpers when it comes to my project. My wife (dubie_72) and her dad. I help him with all his construction needs, and he helps me out with all the welding and mechanical jobs. My wife is great at body work, probablt because she has WAY more patients that I do when it comes to tedious stuff like that. I bought them some T-shirts from GMC PAULS that have 3, 67-72 Chevys's on the back, for being part of my pit crew. I couldn't do all of this work without them.

Yukon Jack 06-04-2002 10:00 AM

I do about 95% of the work myself but my buddy with the 70 1 ton 4x4 helps me out when I get over my head. He's especially helpful on brake line issues. He's helped me lengthen them on a couple occasions. Next couple days we are going to make some stakes for my stake pockets on the flatbed so I can have side boards when hauling stuff.

Nothing like having a good friend to help out.

gotta be the mom

My ole man was taught about cars by my grampa (mom's dad) and well he kinda forgot to teach me what he knew. Limited though it was he still didnt teach me much other than a few basics. From there on i learned my own. Mom helps by always b!tching about me making the driveway a mess but loves to try and help. she'll help me with the brakes and helps at identifying where odd noises are coming from. She loves riding in that truck, but she aint allowed to take it out that often :D

Ohh my old man is great with woodworking so when it came time for the bed to be replaced he was my guy, sanding, stripping, planing, routing etc hes great at that so we did that one together.

My Dad got me addicted at a young age. I crossed over to F--d about 5 years ago when I bought a 91 Mustang GT. I got my dad liking Mustangs but he said if he ever got one it would have to be chevy powered. So guess what he did.

My dad got me hooked on cars, then left me hangin'! I have passed on that love for cars onto my son and we have worked hard on his 70 Malibu and now I have a 72 truck. He has helped with my interior and my buddy Alan has been a god-send in MANY situations with my truck I "affectionately" call Old Blue!

This is a hard one for me,i have 2 fighting to go to swapmeets/shows wife and brother wife usually wins, she loves shows, races, and the part section-shell whisper that guy wants way too much-she knows her stuff.
My brother the walking part number encylopedia,he loves Chevys, wants a BBC in his Olds, but so far ive convinced him to stay Olds he has a 442 and a 455,i dont need another guy buying same stuff. But if i need a part # he knows it oh thats a Vette 67 only intake, very knowledgeable, and will go along ways in hot rod worls for only 17 hes actually who i prefer going to meets, cause he can keep up,wife has a bad ankle and has to rest it,so im sitting wondering what i could be buying, usually ill go,and met her back.

My Dad. He's the mechanic and I'm the flunky. After a stint racing flathead F%rds on dirt tracks in the 50's, he raced 55-57 chevys on short tracks in Alabama in the 60's/early 70's and has been a Chevy Man since. His claim to fame was being spun out by Bobby Allison. He maintains Allison was the dirtiest driver he ever ran with, but Bobby was racing for food money those days.

He does feel guilty about having torn up a healthy number of 55-57's.

Its prolly my dad. I was always around getting in his way, ever since I was big enough to pickup a wrench. I also talk to my brother about wrenchin.
Only problem is my brother lives 800 miles away and dad lives 1100 miles away.
So I try to get the kids intrested.
My 14 y/o is generally glued to my side (Daddys Girl), She also asks allot of questions so I know she is soaking up some info. This may change as she is now intrested in boys. (boys....BAAAAAD)
My oldest daughter could just about do break jobs before she flew the coop.
My Stepson is just now starting to show some intrest although its not in his "jeans". But I think he will come around.
I think I've Rambled enough now..
TLO,
Denny

My dad and my 4 y/o daughter. My dad is a farrier(horseshoer) by trade 38 years. But he was a rodder in his younger days and his stories got me into cars then I got him into Chevy trucks. He gave me my 67 when I was 12. Ashlea my 4 y/o girl loves playing with and asking questions about my(she calls it hers, but that what the burb is for) truck.
