Ka-Chunk. Music to my ears.
Well, after 3 attempts, I finally got my driver side door aligned so it
closes correctly and locks. :drama: In the end I replaced the striker (but I dont think that did much), fabricated some shims for the door-hinge bolts, and poked some holes in the rubber strip. I know I really should have been able to align it without the shims, but I needed to push the top left corner of the door away from the fender while keeping the door level. I just cut a few pieces of alum to fit and slid them under the hinge. I was amaized at how much poking a few holes in the weatherstrip can help it close easier... It now closes easily and I dont need to slam the hell out of it. And the lock finally works. Sweeeeet. |
Good to hear. Slamming the door sucks.
