My New 1978 Stepside (2wd)

Ok, heres the bare bones. 1978 Stepside 2wd, Silverado package, pw, pdl, tilt, ac (works), cc (works), 350v8, T350, 3.42 posi, lowered 6/7, original wood bed (perfect), 17 yr old paint job in beautiful condition...bout a 1 footer. Appliance Finewires, BFG's (new), great interior (nothing to fix), Factory tach, dual tanks. Paint is Cordova Brown and Mandarin Interior. Cool thing about the truck is that it only has 66k original miles on it.

78SilveradoSWB 03-14-2005 08:51 PM

Real nice looking truck! You seem very happy now...BTW did you trade your other one with the dealer? If so, a even trade or some cash with your old truck?

cochino12 03-14-2005 09:01 PM

Good looking Truck.
Are you planning of changing anything?

BabyBlue 03-15-2005 10:04 AM

Thanks guys....and yes I am planning on changing a few things. I'm buying some polished strips for the bed wood, I'm gonna put some exhaust on, some valve covers, air cleaner and later down the road some 17's and 18's.....the exhaust and the strips are probably the only things that are gonna happen this year.

N2TRUX 03-15-2005 10:32 AM

BabyBlue that's a really sharp truck. I'm glad to see you got what you wanted. No don't drive by the car lot and look at your white truck sitting there all cleaned up. You may regret your trade.... :(

BabyBlue 03-15-2005 08:04 PM

lol...maybe, Mike said that he was gonna fix the white one up a little, play with it and then sell it.....I'm guessing it'll be down at the lot in two months or so. His first vehicle was a 1985 white stepside, so.....only he knows what he's gonna do.

1974gmc 03-15-2005 08:34 PM

bluejimmy76 03-16-2005 12:47 AM

bluex 03-16-2005 01:48 AM

Nice truck. Pics like these make me want to keep my stepside bed. My wife wants a fleetside back though. It will be about 5 yrs before my truck is that nice though.

Enjoy it, it looks really good.

loblazer 03-17-2005 11:14 AM

lol, I still got the blazer, it's on hold till I get back from wyotech though....even though its descent old blazer and looks real nice, I need to do a full resto.

And thanks to everyone else for the compliments....this friday I think I'm gonna head down to the boat arena for pictures if it's sunny and I'll snap off a few good looking picks to show you guys.

BTW, I'm not sure I can put 2 1/2 inch exhaust on because of it being so low...I have to look at how much more I can tuck the exhaust up. I was thinking about getting full and true 2 1/2 inch exhaust with an X-pipe and Super 40 Flowmasters. I believe my price is $320. Not sure if I should buy headers or not.....any Idea's???

modmach1 03-18-2005 08:35 AM

265/50's up front on 15x8's and 295/50's out back with 15x10's

chevyrestoguy 03-19-2005 12:55 PM

Nice truck! I even dig the color and the wheels, although I would turn the white letters to the inside. It looks like the way they used to fix them up in the late '70s. There's so many guys updating them to the "new" look, that trucks like yours stand out on their own. I think it's awesome, and I wouldn't change hardly anything on it. If that truck doesn't make you want to build a Stepside, I don't know what will.
