cool any ideal what year it is ? i dont have the title to it the old man that owned it has been gone for about 20 years and his grandson has no clue where the title is
|
i'd say with the bucket seat console interior it would be pretty unusual if not rare. they came with 352,390,410 &the most sought after 427 and sell your mother for ,427 with dual quads
cale yarbourgh used to drive them |
looks to be a 1963. I would say try to sell it instead of crushing it. i'm sure you'd get interest, even on ebay. there is an appraisal guide in there as well. That looks to be 1 of 2317.

hey thanks for all the info everybody !!!!!!! and i thought cale yarbourgh use to drive sumthing like it !!!!!!!!!! thats back when racin was racin !!! :metal:

Whoa, big fella!!!!! Don't crush any old iron! Even Ford iron. I don't know how rare an S55 is, but it ain't real common. I'm sure some ford fanatic would drool over it. Titles aren't that hard to get with the old stuff, at least not in AZ. I'm sure you've got some money comin' on that thing, and I don't mean by the pound from the Chinese!

You got the right attitude, tnblazerK5!
I don't know what engine it is, cuz I'm not in to Fords, but that ain't no 427. You'll make some goodmoney on that thing though. |
looks to be a FE series. i'll check a couple books i have for casting numbers.

yeah and the casting numbers are easier to find than chevy. by the exhaust manifolds, center of the head should be a series of numbers. they should start with a C2xx-x or C3xx-x. the x's would be letters. i'm looking for the location of block casting number now. according the sales brochure in the link above, they came with 390's or 427's (not a side oiler by year). |
i'm betting it's a 430. here is a pic of the engine in my sold 65 connie.

and if it is a m.e.l. block, which it looks to be, the pass. side exhaust manifold if it is not cracked is worth big bucks. they go for around 4 or 5 hundred repro...

mercury, edsel, lincoln. from the mid fifties to the mid-late sixties.

heres what i got off the head C7AE-A at least i think thats what it said its getin kinda dark here and the flashlight batterys were goin bye bye on me lol |
try looking for a casting number on the block, by the oil filter or above the starter.
I've seen m.e.l. 's in lincolns. |

not likely original heads by code... that comes up as a hi performance 66-68 390ci with thermactor 67cc-70cc, 2.02 intake, 1.55 exhaust or 352/390/410/428 1967 head 71-74cc, 2.02 intake, 1.55 exhaust. ford 385 series are so much easier to decipher. |
