Sandlewood brown interior stuff

What are my options with replacing the original steering wheel and dash that was a lighter color of brown? I believe it was called sandlewood. Is the only brown color reproduced the "saddle" shade? It is a 72 with parchment trim optioned truck.

Mothertruckers carries Sandalwood dash pads. I've never seen any NOS or reproduction steering wheels.

So at one time there was a light brown steering wheel?

I believe there was, but here is a pick of an original Sandlewood '70 door panel. If you have a '72 with Parchment trim, then your dash is probably not Sandlewood. Maybe fawn? www.brotherstrucks.com has a nice color selector, but their sandlewood color for dash pads looks a little off. Hope this helps.

According to the colors of choice on the "Brothers" website sandlewood is what my old dash looked like. Sooo, was there such a thing as a Sandlewood steering wheel?

Yes there was a sandalwood wheel. My 72 GMC had sandalwood dashpad, bezel, wheel and column with parchment door panels and seat.

Thanks for clearing that up StingRay. I didn't mean to post false info, I've just never seen the two put together, and since the two are so close in color, I never imagined that it would have been factory. Sorry.

Hugger it could be me that's wrong. I have only ever heard of the beige color in our trucks refered to as sandalwood. It's actually only listed as parchment trim on the options list. Any of the vendors I have asked about it have called it sandalwood too.

My 71 GMC is listed as having parchment trim. The steering wheel dash pad and bezel were sandalwood. All that's been replaced with a combination of parchmentand saddle though as I didn't much care for the sandlewood color. Door panels, seat and visors were all parchment.

Here's a pic of the dash/column and seat in my 72 C20 Burb... Sandlewood dashpad, column, wheel, Parchment seats, doorpanels & sunvisors with a light brownish colored carpet. I also posted pic's of the glovebox ID, just says parchment trim... ;)

Don't mind the mess, this is one of the pics from when I pulled it out of the field... :barf:

Nobody makes a reproduction Sandalwood steering wheel. You will have to look for a used one. My Blazer came with one (I have it in the garage), but the sun took it's toll on it. Same with my dash pad. I hope to buy one of the sandalwood dash pads that Mothertruckers sells (they are the only place I have seen them still listed.
