got the axles/suspension/40" mtr's on (pics)
just some shots from my cell phone to hold you guys over. gonna try to borrow a real digi cam this week end and get a bunch of good pics of everything.
turned out a little taller than i was thinking, lol, its quite a jump to get in there, i don't think i can touch the top of the roof standing flat footed. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...0/f4bd5758.jpg my buddy standing by it for reference, hes about 6-2 http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...a/f4bd5742.jpg front d44 i rebuilt with new tie rod ends, new ball joints, new drag link, skyjacker steering arm, offroad design 1.5" O.D. tie rod, stainless break lines, and greatlake offroad diff cover, 6 inch tough country easy rides and 1" ORD zero rates http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...4/f4bd574f.jpg rear 14bff, rebuilt with rear discs and great lake offroad diff cover, 6 inch tough country easy rides and 1 inch ORD zero rates http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...3/f4bd574d.jpg front 40x13.5x17 goodyear MTR on hummer H2 wheel, warn hubs http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...b/f4bd5752.jpg rear shot http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...7/f4bd5756.jpg i couldn't be more happy with the way it turned out so far, i think the wheel and tire combo is perfect for it, exactly the stance i wanted. these tires are insane, i absolutely cannot hear any tire noise traveling at 60mph (fastest i driven it yet) which is pretty impressive for a 40 inch tall tire. i suspect as the start to get worn in they will get a little hum, but still be very quite. the wheels centered the tires just where i wanted them and there were no tie rod clearence issues. still have a list of things to do like front shaft, shocks, trim the fender a good bit (doesn't rub on the street but definatly will offroad) and odds and ends but its pretty close. got my first thumbs up in it today when i took it to work :metal: |
Dam, that thing is pretty Bad A$$. How did you end up choosing those tires? Quiteness and for they terrain your in? That thing looks pretty awesome. I hear you when you say you have to jump up pretty far to get in.

Good Job.
I was wondering when you were going to post a side by side of the two trucks ... real extreme. I'd like to find out if Great Lake will cut disc brake brackets for a 10-bolt or 12-bolt. Again, looks good. |
Wow! looks good.
