Using AirWaves instead of Airbags
Has anyone ever used "AirWaves" before? It's like a shock with and airbag in it. Here's an example:
http://www.airbagit-store.com/product_list.asp?id=2349 http://www.airbagit-store.com/produc...TRUT%2D4%2EJPG I saw these in Truckin' magazine thie past month and was wondering if they were any good. Obviously, they're no comparison to having straight up airbags (hell, bags are cheaper by a long shot), but I wonder if anyone here could provide their experience with using this product? |
They are made by AIM and there are too many horror stories about thier products and services to risk using thier parts.
Look into the Shockwave from ART, it's a much better design and they have better service than AIM. |
never Buy From Aim....

First AIM/Chassis Tech is crap.
Second. The big deal with the difference between a bag/shock combo and just the bag with external shock is the amount of lift. A bag/shock combo such as the shockwave will not give much lift, something like 4 inches, where a Firestone "2600" will give about 6.5 or so. I'm a dealer for Air Ride so I'm not knocking there stuff, but the shockwaves suck if you need lift to untuck a big tire, however they look the best. We had shockwaves on the front of an S-10 with 20's and the guy had to get rid of the 20's because the shockwave couldn't untuck the wheel enough to drive. |
