Pic Request: 71 Bucket Seats

Going to go trolling for parts this weekend at junkyards and wanted
to make sure Im looking for the right seats. Im wanting to get bucket
seats that are good enough to re-upholster. How hard do you think they
will be to find?

thanks!

How hard? I'd put it in the "Unlikely" category

Actually, thats a pic I've saved for such a post as this. They are not mine. I do have a set of ultra-rare, as in put in the category as shoulder belt rare, 67/68 Burb bucket seats. :)

but not impossible, i've managed to find 2sets in the last 10years of junkyard trips
another option is from dodge vans of the 70's the seats are the same , the padding a little different and they don't have the plastic backs like the chevys do

I wish I could. Currently they are buried in my basement and the bulkhead is buried under the snow

I was afraid of that. I will look anyway but it sounds like it may not
be an easy find. Anyone have a crappy set they want to get rid of
cheap? (yeah, right)...

I dont mind cleaning, sanding, painting, replacing foam, etc. That just takes
time and time is free. Maybe I should just concentrate on another part
of the truck for a while till I have more cash :)

Ok set of seats will cost you 300.00 (mine were a little better than the ones on the far right) , refoam (correct) another 300.00 and exact replacement covers around another 300.00. I did a "factory stock" set I know~! Then you need to look at getting a console to go with~! bare bones stock factory not ropop 125.00 before restoration. Over $1k now~! and you still have to sand / paint, cover, hog ring and restore / repair/ parts like the springs brackets levers etc on and on. If you can find a set in a junk yard get "em / hell get 2 sets you can make a ton of money on them if you can get them cheep enough~! I worked my A$$ off on mine and I need in 2001 and they already need to be recovered~! Not free by any means~~!

The seats in 73-76 Blazers are nearly the same as 71-72 buckets, although the brackets are taller. I've seen several pairs of these in junkyards recently. It is difficult to find the right driver side brackets though. The passenger side brackets are being reproduced, so they are relatively easy to get.

I have a set of the 71-72. Let me get some pics for you and determine a price, and I can get back to you if you are interested.
